The UK Civil Aviation Authority's (CAA) General Visual Line of Sight Certificate (GVC) is the opening competence where your flying ability is assessed by an authorised assessment centre on behalf of the CAA.
The GVC competence is the minimum qualification needed to apply for an Operational Authorisation (OA) in the Specific Category. It is minimum standard needed to be able to apply for most professional UAS Remote Pilot jobs.

Before you arrive at our training location, you must take you CAA Flyer ID exam and then register online for our course.
The course is split into two parts:
1. Ground school - the first two days cover the CAA syllabus for both A2CofC and GVC with a single 60 question multichoice exam. You must bring an electronic device to sit the online hosted exam - a smartphone is fine. The pass mark is 75%.
2. Flying Training - our highly experienced instructors will train you to fly a small drone safely. Most of our instructors are ex-military helicopter aircrew and have a lifetime of aviation experience to share with you. We use DJI Enterprise drones for Multi-Rotor and Parrot Disco for Fixed Wing training. At the end of your GVC training, you will plan a task and carry out a Practical Flying assessment.
What is the difference between the GVC and the GVC+?
What is the difference between the GVC and the GVC+?
Both course s include both the GVC and A2CofC qualifications, but the GVC+ adds in vital knowledge and skills to get you up and running and able to use a drone much more effectively. We use the term 'Fly Safely - Operate Effectively' - the GVC gets you to Fly Safely, the GVC+ (GVC Plus) take you on to be able to Operate Effectively by showing you many more of the features of DJI Enterprise drones, using alternate payloads and a back ground in how they operate.
